Healthy Lifestyle Fund
Objectives
The Healthy Lifestyle Fund was set up with a mission to educate the public on important health topics (in line with Adventist Health principles) focus on disease prevention and how to maintain a healthy lifestyle in a sustainable way. Programs such as health promotion campaigns, NEWSTART lifestyle camps, free health screenings, food delivery, and many educational initiatives through different media are organized to provide to people and families in need.
Impact Highlights
- Summer NEWSTART Camp: We hosted an immersive camp for 40 kids at Noah's Ark sponsored by Friends of Asia HK. The camp was led by professional instructors, who taught participants on how to kick-start a healthy lifestyle through a series of tailor-made health education activities such as healthy living classes, interactive cooking sessions, nature tours, and outdoor adventures. By learning how to foster their physical and mental development and boost their resilience, kids were encouraged to take charge of their future by safeguarding their own health and well-being.
- Care Date: Join hands with YWCA's Sham Shui Po Integrated Social Service Centre, ChickenSoup Foundation and J Life Foundation, over 80 underprivileged families participated in the event. Our dedicated Care Date brought families together to focus on well-being, mindfulness, and strengthening support networks at home. Our Hospital Dietitian delivered a short health talk on nutrition for children and guided participants to do exercise for muscle strengthening.
- Cooking Class: Participants joined us for interactive cooking sessions, learning how to prepare delicious, budget-friendly, and nutrient-dense veggie dishes.
